Aftermath.
I haven't washed my hands yet. The powder burns are still there. I wonder how long they'll remain if I don't wash them off. Would it be possible to preserve them for more than a few hours? If I go to sleep now, will there be any sign at all tomorrow of what happened?

Of course there will. The look in the eyes of all those who know me.

Angel, I think I'll be working from home tomorrow, if that's quite all right.

I won't be trite and say I understand your feelings, what you're going through at the moment, because I don't. I can't. Nobody can.

But that doesn't mean you're alone. You have friends, lots of them, who care about you. Who see the strong, capable, caring man you've grown into. Take faith in that. Use the power that gives you. That's what it's there for.

We care you about, Wes. We hate to see you in pain. My prayers that you're able to find your way through this as quickly as possible. You deserve it.

*hugs* Wish there was anything that could make any of this easier.

Does it help to know that the next time your father mouths off at you, you'll at least have some more control over your actions? Having been there, got the T-shirt--- at least you'll know what you're in for.
